Woodbury Research Impact Center Grant--$70K initial funding

Woodbury School of Business - January 28, 2022

We presented a proposal for creating the Women in Business Impact Lab through which faculty members and students will partner with industry to conduct and disseminate research to increase knowledge, skills, and practices that will enable women to thrive in business. Businesses will gain insight into the needs of their workforces by working collaboratively with the Lab to translate organizational problems into answerable questions and by gaining access to information and resources that can improve processes and practices in their organizations. Ultimately, this work is essential for all business disciplines, as women leaders are needed across all industries and levels of organizational strata (Salas-Lopez et al., 2011). Not only have women leaders been linked to positive organizational outcomes, including firm performance (e.g., Hoobler et al., 2018), addressing the concerning workforce trends that may impact opportunities for women leaders for years to come is the right, just, and fair thing to do.
