Erik Heiny

Biography

Erik Heiny is a Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Utah Valley University. Dr. Heiny earned B.S. degrees in both Mathematics and Statistics from Colorado State University, an M.S. in Statistics from Michigan State University, and a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University of Northern Colorado.

Dr. Heiny began teaching at Utah Valley University in 2008. He has taught ten different statistics courses -STAT 1040, STAT 1045, STAT 2040, STAT 2050, STAT 3040, STAT 4000, STAT 4200, STAT 4400, STAT 4710, STAT 4720, and six different mathematics courses- MATH 1050, MATH 1055, MATH 1100, MATH 1210, MATH 4000, and MATH 4750.

Dr. Heiny's recent papers, publications, and conference presentations have included topics in golf, baseball, football, prediction models for nursing licensure exams and calculus placement, whole body CT-based body mass and body fat quantification, and organ trafficking.
