Dr. Matt North

Biography

Dr. Matt North has been teaching in the Information Systems and Technology department at UVU since 2015, after having taught for more than a decade at colleges in Pennsylvania, Argentina, and Idaho. His teaching expertise is in database design, development and administration, data analytics, and cyberlaw. Research areas include data analytics, cyberlaw, and technology pedagogy. He is the author of two books-Data Mining for the Masses, and Life Lessons and Leadership, as well as numerous journal papers, articles, book chapters, and conference presentations. An award winning professor and scholar, he is a Fulbright alumnus, and the recipient of the Ben Bauman Award for Excellence, the Gamma Sigma Alpha Outstanding Professor Award, and the UVU Alumni Outstanding Professor award. In 2022, the International Association for Computer Information Systems named Dr. North their Computer Educator of the Year.
