Brian Birch is a Professor of Philosophy at Utah Valley University where he serves as Director of the Center for the Study of Ethics and Director of the Religious Studies Program. His research explores dimensions of religious diversity including interreligious dialogue, pluralistic theologies, and the relationship between religion and ethics. He is the founding editor of Teaching Ethics_ The Journal of the Society for Ethics Across the Curriculum and Element: The Journal of the Society for Mormon Philosophy and Theology. Other publications include contributions to Philosophical Investigations, the Encyclopedia of Religion and War (Routledge), and Ethics and Values (Simon & Schuster). His current book project is a collection of essays entitled Radical Pluralism_ Ethics, Diversity, and Religious Experience.
He is a senior fellow at the Foundation for Religious Diplomacy and past president of the Society for Philosophy of Religion. He has also served on the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of the Parliament of the World's Religions. He is currently on sabbatical leave serving as a Senior Consultant for Interfaith America, a Chicago-based organization designed to advance healthy forms of civic and religious pluralism.
