Kids in Science Camp

SUMMER CAMPS

EARTH SCIENCE

Embark on a journey to explore the earth and its fascinating history.  Discover how volcanoes create rocks, how earthquakes rock our world, and much more about our home planet.  Develop a better understanding of all that surrounds us, and how we interact with the earth every day.

LITTLE ALCHEMIST

Learn how to make things bubble, fizz, and change colors!  Participate in hands-on experiments and demonstrations that explore polymers, acids, bases, and electrochemistry. Learn exciting methods to test hypotheses and design new solutions

PHYSICS CAMP

Warning! Designed for inquisitive minds. Exploring physics: forces of nature, simple machines, electricity, magnets, light and sounds. Each day will include hands-on exploration activities where you develop a deeper understanding of physics. Camp will culminate with an exciting engineering challenge!

ROCKET SCIENCE

Are you ready to soar to new heights? Join our model rocketry summer camp! Spend a week studying the physics behind model rocketry.  Activities include building straw rockets, soda bottle rockets and a real model rocket that uses the same physics and computer software that actual scientists use when building rockets. Yes this really is rocket science!

ASTRONOMY AND SPACE SCIENCE

The science of astronomy deals with the planets, stars, galaxies, and everything our universe has to offer!  Investigate the night sky, learn about telescopes and the tools astronomers use to study space, and enjoy hands-on activities to explore, create, and learn about our vast universe.

BIOLOGY

From dragonflies and dicots to DNA and dinosaurs. Learn the process of science as you explore hands-on activities covering insects, mamals, plants and DNA.  Tour some of the high-tech labs on campus and work with live and preserved organisms to better appreciate and understand the amazing world of biology!

CHEMISTRY CAMP

Discover the wonders of science through fun, interactive experiments, real-world applications, and hands-on activities. From creating colorful reactions to exploring cutting-edge technologies, enter the world of chemistry while developing essential problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

How long are the camps?

Camps are a weeklong, M-Th, from either 9:00am - Noon or 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Camps occur the first two weeks in June. All camps take place at the UVU main campus in Orem.

There is an early registration discount of $5.00 automatically applied prior to May 12, 2025.
