Nick Varney is a graduate of Utah Valley University’s History Education Program. He has a master’s degree Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education and is currently a Ph.D. student in Education Leadership Policy at Texas Tech University. He has been a program scholar with the National Governor’s Association, a Stanford University Innovation Fellow, an Oxford Map the System Global Challenge Finalist. 

Professionally, he has been a public school teacher, a non-profit program director, and an education consultant. He currently works for the Utah Office of the Legislative Auditor General where he conducts performance evaluations on education and executive agencies.
