Chase Troutner

Chase D. Troutner is an attorney living in Mobile, Alabama. A graduate of Timpview High School in Provo, Utah, Chase originally began his studies at Brigham Young University in Broadcast Journalism before transferring to UVU to attend the Utah P.O.S.T. satellite academy, graduating as a certified Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) in 2012. Marriage and less-than-inspiring shooting qualification scores led him to consider an alternate career path.

Starting in middle school mock trial competitions, people had often suggested that Chase consider becoming a lawyer; his senior class at Timpview voted him “Most Likely to Become a Supreme Court Justice.” Out of sheer stubbornness, however, it took some trial (pun intended) and error before he came to the same conclusion. He began his full studies at UVU in the English department, before embracing his longstanding love of history and switching majors one last time. While at UVU, Chase became the first President of the school’s reorganized chapter of the national history honor society Phi Alpha Theta. He also left his mark by using his high school drum line skills as one of the earliest members of the Green Man Group.

On graduating from UVU in 2015, Chase and his family moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to attend the University of Alabama School of Law, which is consistently ranked as one of the top 25 law schools in the country. Upon graduation, he returned to Utah to take the bar exam and begin work as a lawyer. Returning to his law enforcement roots, Chase began work as a prosecuting attorney. He first worked as part-time volunteer for the Provo City Attorney, before working full-time at the Salt Lake City Prosecutor’s Office and the Iron County Attorney’s Office.

In July 2024, Chase made the decision to enter private practice and returned to Alabama to join Vrieze Law, LLC. He currently handles a variety of family, criminal, civil, and whatever other cases might come through their door. When not working, Chase enjoys spending time with his wife of almost 13 years and his four children on the beautiful Gulf Coast beaches.
