UVU’s Department of History and Political Science offers an excellent undergraduate Constitutional Studies program. Students who enroll in this special minor benefit from a rigorous curriculum and coursework examining European and Colonial foundations of American constitutionalism, the political thought and constitution-making of the American founding, and the framing and development of the U.S. Constitution.
The CCS K-12 constitutional literacy initiative brings hundreds of high-school students to campus each year for constitutional conferences. The initiative also led to the launch of the CCS Constitutional Literacy Institute, which enhances the constitutional knowledge and pedagogy of secondary-school teachers.
The MACGCL program prepares educators, professionals, and scholars to understand and teach the ideas and practices critical to the perpetuation of constitutional government, ordered liberty, and the rule of law.
The program focuses on the foundations of the American political system through close readings of key texts in American constitutional and political history.
