UVU GreenBucks Account Benefits

GreenBucks is an optional, declining-balance account that may be used for purchases at select on-campus and off-campus locations. These funds carry over from semester to semester and year to year so long as the account remains active. Refer to the list below for locations that GreenBucks can be accepted, and which locations provide the 5% discount.*

*Please keep in mind that our GreenBucks system is currently expanding across campus. Some of the locations on this list may experience technical difficulties and be unable to process this type of payment. Be sure to ask a cashier before attempting to make a purchase, or submitting an order to make sure that their system can accept GreenBucks for your order.

Utilizing GreenBucks

Have a UVU ID Card. Your GreenBucks account is attached to your UVUID card. This account works with both the UVU OneCard, and the UCCU PlusCard.
Make a deposit into your GreenBucks account.
Check the Accepting Locations list to see if your desired location takes GreenBucks as payment.
Tell the cashier to charge the transaction to your GreenBucks before you swipe your card. When swiping a UCCU PlusCard, make sure to swipe the Green stripe to utilize your GreenBucks.

$5 fee for account closers. Cannot issue cash. Can only refund to original transaction card or check. Refund can take 3-6 weeks.

GreenBucks Deposit Terms

General Terms

Your purchases are deducted from your GreenBucks Account on a-la-carte-bases including tax.
Your new balance is electronically displayed at the cash register.
Cash refunds are not made for returned merchandise. A credit will be made to your account within three business days from the time the merchandise is returned.
It is assumed that the person presenting the GreenBucks card is the owner.
Lost or Stolen Cards can be cancelled immediately at UVU Campus Connection or online at onecard.uvu.edu. Account balances cannot be protected the the card is lost or stolen until the card is reported lost or stolen to UVU Campus Connection and deactivated. Only the balance at the time the card is reported lost or stolen and deactivated will be protected.
There is a replacement fee for lost, stolen, or damaged cards.
Future changes in terms and conditions regulating use of this card will apply to all cards in circulation and use at the future date, and will supersede the terms and conditions in effect at the time the card was acquired.
Balance may be carried from semester to semester as long as the student is enrolled. Faculty/Staff balances will be carried as long as the individual remains employed at UVU. The university reserves the right to deactivate an account not used during a 120 day period. Reactivation will require a visit to UVU Campus Connection.

Save 5% on EVERY food and beverage purchase at any Dining Services location.
There is not a minimum or maximum amount to deposit. There is a $5 refund/closure fee.
Once you have opened a GreenBucks account, you can increase it any time for any amount.
Use at most retail locations on main campus, some vending machines, and some copiers.

Anyone can purchase a Gift Card from $5 to $1300.

Cards can be purchased at Campus Connection located in SC106f (if you don't want to put money directly on student ID card) or online.

The use of UVU Gift cards at off-campus entities is coming soon!

Purchase Cards Online

Departmental purchase of Gift Cards

Departments may purchase Gift Cards to give to students and others not employed by UVU. Gifts Cards should not be purchased to give to employees of the University. All orders will follow the same approval procedure as Banner and you can track everything by logging in.

Once all the approvals are in place via the system, the order will be submitted to Campus Connection and processed within 24 hours -- often sooner. Watch your email for notification that your order is complete.

Step by Step Instructions

Log in using myUVU credentials, click on “Create New Order.”
After selecting the Gift Card type, the card value of the cards, and quantity of the cards with that value, click on “Add to Order.”
Enter the Banner Index, hit Enter or Tab, and the rest will auto-populate.
All Student Affairs request must copy and paste approval emails into the “Purpose of Gift Cards” section of the Request Form.
Once all of these steps are completed, click “Submit Order” and the Request will move into “Pending Approval Status.” The person over the Index will receive an email requesting approval.
He or she will then need to click on “Approve” or “Deny” in the email itself to move the request forward or to cancel it. If approved, the request will move on to VP of Student Affairs email, to be denied or approved.
Once approved by VP of Student Affairs, the request will create cards and automatically issue the funds to the cards so that Campus Connection can print them. As soon as they are completed, an email will go to the requester that the cards are ready for pick up.
