Testimonials

"The biggest advice I'd give to people starting is to find the passion for it."

"The biggest advice I'd give to people starting is to find the passion for it. It's really hard and there were times I wanted to quit so bad, but the passion I have for aviation is what pushed me through it. I really really want to do this, so I'm gonna work for that. It's so nice to have a goal like that because it just keeps pushing you to do it. That's what I tell everybody. Make sure before you jump two feet in, that you've really thought about it, and you know you have the passion behind it, because it's tough. It's worth it though."

"One of my great joys is now helping others realize their dreams."

"The UVU Aviation Program provided a pathway for me to complete a lifelong dream I once thought impossible to achieve. Having been to college elsewhere, but never completing a degree, I came to UVU as a 'nontraditional' student in my late 30s. I was raising my family and working full-time here in Utah county, and without the quality professional pilot program offered by UVU, I wouldn’t have been able to reach the goal I have had since I was very young. Now with a clear opportunity, drive, and focus, I was able to excel and achieve.

"Fast forward 20 years, now as a faculty member (and charter pilot), one of my great joys is now helping others realize their dreams that perhaps they too once thought impossible, and to see a student eventually go from my classroom to becoming my colleague."
