Director of Choral Activities
A native of Oakland, California, Dr. Reed Criddle serves as an associate professor and director of choral activities at UVU. Under his direction, UVU choirs have performed a dozen times at professional conferences of the National Collegiate Choral Organization, the American Choral Directors Association, and the Utah Music Educators Association. He has served as president of the Utah chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Criddle is a two-time recipient of the UVU Faculty Senate Teaching Excellence Award and has directed ensembles, conducted research, and led workshops throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Cuba, and the United States. His students’ abilities to listen, relate, adapt, share, and inspire keep Dr. Criddle motivated to teach.
Administrative Support III, Department of Music
Christine Gines serves as administrative support for the Department of Music. She hails from Lindon, Utah, and has received the Dean’s Staff Recognition Award and several Wolverine Sighting Awards during her 36 years at UVU. Gines says that working with the talented faculty and staff and preparing students to pursue their dreams is the best part of her job. She served on many academic committees, including one of the first scholarship committees for the School of General Education. Gines and her husband James have six children, five children-in-law, and eight amazing (and exhausting) grandchildren.
Student, Dance
Cassidy Raye Blackham of West Jordan, Utah, graduated from Bingham High School before obtaining a bachelor’s degree in modern dance and associate degree in exercise science from UVU. Using her degrees, Blackham plans to attend a graduate program for physical therapy and provide specialized injury prevention care for dancers in the future. During her time at UVU, Blackham received the Undergraduate Research Scholarly and Creative Activities grant to attend a dance intensive in Los Angeles with the Diavolo Dance Company and presented historical dance research at UCUR and NCUR. Additionally, Blackham was a member of the UVU Synergy Dance Company for four years and co-vice president of the UVU Choreography Club for two years. She says that UVU provided her with a supportive environment that allowed her to achieve her personal and professional goals.
Associate of Arts, Art & Design
Hailing from Herriman, Utah, Jenifer Francis Shipley received her associate degree in art and design with the intention to further her education and start a small business, Bella Rosa Pottery, LLC, where she will teach ceramics and pottery to children and adults in her home community. Prior to her time at UVU, Shipley obtained an Associate of Arts degree from Snow College with honors. She has a 4.0 GPA and was recognized on the dean’s list in 2019 and 2020. Shipley says that although returning to college in her 40s left her questioning if there was a place for her at UVU, the university always gave her a sense of belonging, and she felt valued and accepted. She and her husband Brett have three daughters. She enjoys doing wheel-thrown pottery, listening to good music, and serving others.
Bachelor of Fine Arts, Acting
A native of Mesa, Arizona, Aspen Thompson graduated from Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts before earning a bachelor’s degree in acting from UVU. Her aspirations include becoming a professional actor with a specific focus on Shakespeare, classical works, and musical theatre. During her time at UVU, Thompson participated in more than 14 shows as an actor, dramaturge, and choreographer; was the recipient of the Outstanding Merit Scholarship for four years; and was featured in the UVU Review. She was a nominee for both the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship for KCACTF and Vocal Finalist in the Musical Theatre Initiative at KCACTF. She says that she always felt like she mattered at UVU and that the people here cared about her progress.
Whitney was raised in Allen, Texas where from a young age she learned she had a passion for not only art, but the role that educators and mentors play in students' lives. She knew she wanted to cultivate a classroom where individuality and inclusivity were encouraged while students learned to explore different media and converse about art. To achieve this dream, she attended Utah Valley University where she earned a degree in Secondary Art Education. She has now been hired by the Nebo School District to work as a Visual Arts teacher for Spanish Fork High School. She looks forward to the years to come of helping students explore their identities, learn to honestly communicate with their peers and express their view of and thoughts about the world through their art.
Burkley Page is an artist that likes to work in uncertainty. He has worked in self-portraiture as well as various other fine art endeavors. Burkley has won multiple awards at UVU and has also been exhibited in galleries statewide. He has been published in numerous books and magazines and continues to work in whatever way he wants.
Megan grew up in Boise, ID, and began her educational journey at UVU in the spring semester of 2019 after completing a year at USU. UVU not only offered the best-fit opportunity for her to obtain a degree but, much more than that, UVU gave her purpose, passion, and a home. She spent her final semester at UVU pregnant, working full-time, and going to school full-time, all with her first child due during the finals week of her last semester. The baby came 2 weeks early and she claims that having a preeclamptic pregnancy and delivery and then going on to maintain a 4.0 GPA to finish her degree is what this award is all for. She and her husband continue to follow their dreams and Megan takes any and all opportunities to continue her education in formal and informal ways, hoping to never run out of projects, art pieces, and creative solutions.
A first generation college student, Cody has always been drawn to creative outlets like graphic design. His time at UVU has led to exciting opportunities, including designing the cover for Art & Design’s Grimm Gestalt, receiving a gold IDA design award for his Unpack publication, and interning with the Salt Lake design agency, Super Top Secret. In a future that seems a bit uncertain, he is excited to continue exploring the professional world of design. Cody plans to submit his senior project, Squirm, to the next AIGA 100 Show and continues to create personal projects that people can connect with.
Kelsey Low always had a love for art. She realized her passion for art history while studying in high school and at UVU. One of her favorite memories at UVU was her Study Abroad program in Italy. Kelsey’s favorite eras include the Renaissance and Impressionism. Kelsey plans on continuing her education in Art History to become a professor. She would like to thank her professors, family, husband and new baby boy for supporting her in her education and love for art history!
Amanda Dryer completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing with a Minor in Art History from Utah Valley University in the Fall of 2020. She graduated with distinction through the Honors Program and participated in an art history study abroad in Italy in the summer of 2018. For her academic and artistic excellence, she received the Talisman Endowed Scholarship in 2020. Her work has been exhibited in UVU’s Student Art Show at the Woodbury Art Museum in 2018 and 2020 and has been published in student journals such as Warp and Weave, The Journal of Student Leadership, and Touchstones. Additionally, she had an opportunity to speak about her work at the Journal of Student Leadership’s Publication Launch Night for the Women and Leadership Special Issue. In the summer of 2021, she plans to attend the New York Academy of Art’s Summer Undergraduate Residency Program with a full tuition scholarship.
Annie Lyn Sheketoff was born in Stamford, Connecticut. She began her dance training at the age of three at the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut, which is the state she grew up in. From ages three to twelve, Annie Lyn cross trained in many types of dances like: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Hip-Hop and Contemporary. Around six years old, Annie Lyn discovered the famous TV show, Dancing With the Stars, and instantly fell in love with it, wishing to take it up after the six years straight of watching it religiously. At age twelve, Annie Lyn began taking lessons at Fred Astaire and soon became a competitor and show dancer. In high school, Annie Lyn really found her passion in dance and skyrocketed straight to what she knew she’d forever want to do. She started taking lessons in New York City with top name, 5-time World Rhythm Champions, Jose Decamps and Joanna Zecharowicz. She then went on to train at Dance With Me, a studio that is well franchised all over the United States. That studio is owned by top names from Dancing With the Stars such as: Tony Davoloni, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Annie Lyn gained so much knowledge and experience through the different coaches, lessons, rehearsals, competitions, shows, and daily practices alone that she did.
After High School, Annie Lyn was offered a full ride to Utah Valley University for the Ballroom dance program, but more specifically to perform and compete on the UVU Ballroom Tour Team. There, she was able to take classes from amazing coaches such as: Tara Boyd, Chris Whitt, Ryan DiLello, and many others. There, she was also able to perform in two big concerts per semester, five to ten smaller shows throughout one semester, and do one big tour at the end of the year. In the year 2018, Annie Lyn got the opportunity to go to the most prestigious Ballroom competition in the world, which is known as Blackpool. It was in Blackpool, England and her team and her competed in the Team Formation category and then proceeded to Tour while in Europe. Annie Lyn is currently in her senior year of college at Utah Valley University and is graduating in Spring 2021 with a Bachelor’s in Science, Emphasis on Ballroom Dancing. Annie Lyn will continue to grow and experience more to come in the field of Ballroom dance and she cannot wait for what the future holds.
Kendra Rangel found her love and passion for dance at the age of three and has continued this passion throughout her life. Kendra has had intensive training in ballet and jazz as well as tap, modern, and contemporary. She has also participated in musical theater, hip hop, country swing dance, and other social dance classes. Kendra began her intensive study of dance at Life House Performing Arts Academy where she trained for 14 years eventually becoming the President of her Ballet and Jazz companies. Kendra also joined her high school dance company where she was voted captain. She was able to lead a company and have many choreographic opportunities while serving in this capacity. She grew in her technical and artistic abilities as she continued her career in dance at Utah Valley University with a full tuition performance scholarship. Kendra is actively perusing a Dance Degree with an Emphasis in Ballet. She has also had the opportunity to perform on the Universities Pre-Professional Ballet Company, Repertory Ballet Ensemble for three years. While performing with Repertory Ballet Ensemble Kendra has had many opportunities to work with esteemed choreographers such as Bill Evans, Liz Lerman, Stacey Calvert, and Daniel Charon. She has also had the opportunity to dance with professional contemporary company, Ririe-Woodbury, as part of a small auditioned group of students. Kendra has had the opportunity to choreograph for Salem Hills high schools’ production of Footloose as well as their dance company concerts. She has also been able to work collaboratively with Pierce College in Washington to create a contemporary ballet piece completely done on an online format. Kendra is currently working on choreographing her senior capstone piece for her upcoming graduation this April. Kendra loves teaching and has taught a variety of genres to children and young adults of all ages. She is excited to continue passing on her passion of dance to her students.
Miranda will be graduating this May with a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Modern Dance. During her time at UVU, she performed as a guest artist with Ririe Woodbury, spent three years on Contemporary Dance Ensemble along with 1 year on Synergy Dance Company where her choreography was chosen to perform. She had the privilege to work with countless professional choreographers in the past four years. In her studies, she discovered her passion for choreography as well as Laban Movement Analysis where she plans to become certified. She plans to perform and choreograph internationally upon graduation.
Laurel grew up in the green forests of Oregon. She moved to Utah when she was 14. She has always loved the arts and took dance classes starting at age 10. She got into sports and other things but missed dance too much and started back up again in high school. Laurel became an all-region Drill Scholar and decided to pursue her love for dance even more. She was on SUU's Intermediate Ballroom Team and learned more about partner work. She just finished her Dance Education degree here at UVU. Laurel has choreographed student works, taught in elementary schools, and choreographed for some musicals. She has done ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, military, ballroom, and modern. Laurel was married in May of 2018 and welcomed their first baby girl this March. She can't wait to help those she teaches to become creators and share her passion for dance.
Wenxin Zhang is a violinist in the UVU Music Performance program studying with Professor Donna Fairbanks. She has 15 years of violin learning, including nine years of professional violin training. She completed junior and high school in the Attached Middle School of Wuhan Conservatory in 2017 and will graduate from UVU in the spring of 2021.
Wenxin enjoys working in orchestras and small ensembles. She has 8 years of symphony orchestra performance experience and four years of chamber orchestra performance experience. She is currently the concertmaster of the UVU symphony orchestra and chamber orchestra. After joining the orchestra for the first time, she found that the timbres of different instruments intertwining were so fascinating, this made her decide to play in the orchestra as her career. She is good at leading the section, following the style of the piece, and reading the conductor's instructions. Participating in the orchestra made her feel the pleasure of working with others.
As a performance major student, Wenxin has plentiful performing experience. She performed in three symphony orchestra concerts and one chamber orchestra concert every semester and participated in five small ensemble concerts from 2017 - 2020 spring. She is the winner of the UVU Concerto Competition in the 2019 and performed as a soloist in the 2020 Concerto Night.
Jory Woodis grew up in a small farming town in Northern Wyoming. At 18 he left his home where the buffalo roam to study Saxophone Performance at Brigham Young University. While a student, Jory was featured by invitation as a guest soloist with nearly every major ensemble. As a student, Jory funded, produced, and recorded two albums with his New Orleans style traditional jazz band "The Salt Lake City 7", as well as performing as a sideman with "Hot House West", a band specializing in Gypsy Jazz. He also created as a side project a YouTube channel “Breakfast at Benny’s” featuring his toddler son eating breakfast while being serenaded by professional jazz musicians. As a freelancer Jory has performed with several acclaimed artists, notably Hugh Jackman, Idina Menzel, Alfie Boe, and Delfeayo Marsalis, and has traveled the world, visiting many countries in Europe and South America playing concerts, jazz festivals, and events. During his final year at BYU, Jory put his education on hold, as he was hired as the Professor of Saxophone at Utah Valley University, where he taught lessons, classes, and directed ensembles for 4 years. After another 4 years teaching at Snow College in Ephraim Utah, Jory returned to Utah Valley University as a student to finish his bachelor’s degree, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2020. During fall break 2019 (Jory’s senior year at UVU), Jory and his wife Brittney went to New Orleans on vacation and sat in with several bands. After returning home from the trip, he received a phone call inviting him to relocate to New Orleans to join the world-famous “DUKES of Dixieland” on clarinet and saxophone. Thanks to the flexibility and understanding of his professors, Jory was able to complete his coursework online and moved with his family to New Orleans, where he now performs regularly and with various working bands and Grammy-nominated artists.
Stephanie Jones is a graduate of Utah Valley University with a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music. Her education includes certifications in both Avid and Dante levels 1-2. Stephanie is an accomplished singer-songwriter, performer, composer, and arranger
She has won several awards for her singing and songwriting, including a talent award at the Miss Utah program, second place and the People’s Choice Award at the Utah Valley Vocal Sport competition and third place at the UVU Valley Voice competition. She is also the female lead singer of the Mountainside Jazz Orchestra and has performed at big events including the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival, a UVU Awards banquet, and various corporate events. She was invited to be the solo guest performer for the BYU Accessibility Center Banquet and the Mountainland Association of Governments’ Christmas dinner.
Stephanie has composed across diverse genres of music including trap, EDM, classical, pop, sampling, cinematic, and horror. She even has composed professionally in a TV commercial for Check City that aired in Nevada. Among her compositions, she has scored music for various film scenes. Stephanie loves the way music heals the soul and is eager to share her voice through music.
Valery Rodas was born and raised in Guatemala. She grew up around music and started her musical studies at the National Conservatory of Guatemala. She plays the cello and has participated in various orchestras and ensembles in Guatemala and Utah. Her love for music education arose through her voluntary service conducting community chorus and teaching piano lessons in Guatemala and Panama. She continued by teaching cello for elementary and high school students for a couple of years in Guatemala. In August 2016, she decided to expand her education by coming to the UVU English Language Learning Department. She was then able to continue her music studies at UVU. Now she is excited to accomplish her goal of earning a degree in Music Education and to continue her musical career.
Tawnie is a BFA graduate in lighting design from UVU. At UVU, she worked as an assistant lighting designer on She Loves Me and Girl Who Drank the Moon, and as the lighting designer for the opera La Traviata as well as the plays Paul Bunyan and Gruesome Playground Injuries. Tawnie loves the art of storytelling and believes that, “When done right, theatre can be magic."
Chloe' Cox is honored by this recognition and would like to thank the administration, kind mentors, family, and friends at UVU who have impacted her life forever. During her time at UVU she has had the amazing opportunities to design, stage manage, choreograph, and direct numerous productions in the department, most recent being the Platform Production of Gruesome Playground Injuries which she directed. Chloe' is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Arts Education and she plans to teach theatre and continue her work with arts integration and education in the community.
If there’s one thing you should know about Hannah Kaye, it’s that she was born performing. Through the very in-depth work that was required to graduate, she gained a profound education in acting methods, work ethics, understanding the jobs of those around her, and most importantly learning the most effective ways to make other people shine. Notable credits on stage have included Frl. Kost (Cabaret), Dorothy (Wizard of Oz), and Catherine (Proof). She has recently been seen singing background to Marie Osmond in Lifetime’s The Road Home for Christmas. Currently, she is working as a lead in the feature films Windigo and All Hallow’s Eve, both of which will be released soon.
Kaye truly cherishes the opportunity she’s been given to live and work around all of these amazing and creative minds. She loves to create with others to make something beautiful, disturbing, raw, gentle, ugly, or light. Honored to receive this Award of Merit, Kaye thanks her wonderful acting professors for their teachings - particularly Ben Hopkin - and for believing in her every step of the way. She cannot wait to see the opportunities that lie in her future.
Nick Crapo is proud to receive his degree this year in Musical Theatre, after nearly two decades of performing experience. Following his pursuit of a Certificate in Social Media/Marketing at LDS Business College, Nick joined the BFA Musical Theatre program at UVU to extend his education. He has appeared on several stages around the Salt Lake Valley as a performer and choreographer, including Midvale Main Street Theatre, Centerpoint Legacy Theatre, and both Hale Centre Theatres, in SLC and Orem. A few of his favorite roles include Melchior in Spring Awakening, Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Georg in She Loves Me, and Riff in West Side Story. This summer, he will appear as Davey in CPT’s production of Newsies.
Merick is completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with a Minor in History. He is thankful for his professors and friends and all they have taught him, as well as for the many opportunities that he has been given while at UVU. Productions he has been a part of include She Loves Me, Urinetown, Gruesome Playground Injuries, Wedding Singer, and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The techniques, skills, and life lessons he has learned during his time at UVU are ones that he will be able to use for the rest of his life, on and off the stage. Merick's passion has always been theatre and he has been part of over 50 productions. Following graduation, Merick intends to continue being a part of theatre wherever life takes him and is excited for the road ahead.
Jamie A. Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Utah Valley University, where she instructs all levels of ballet technique, pointe, and ballet pedagogy as well as classes from the core curriculum. Since 2015, she has served as the Co-Artistic Director of Repertory Ballet Ensemble, a student ensemble of dance majors, who perform classical and contemporary works in venues locally and nationally. Johnson's teaching is informed by her professional performing experience. After graduating cum laude from the University of Utah with degrees in Ballet and English, she went on to perform nationally and internationally with companies such as- Sacramento Ballet, Ballet Pacifica, Ohio Dance Theatre, and Boulder Ballet, reaching the status of principal dancer. Later with MOMIX, she served as Dance Captain and performed upon world-renowned stages, such as the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the Joyce Theater in New York, and Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro. Johnson is a prolific choreographer and dance scholar. Her choreography has been performed by St. Paul Ballet, Utah Metropolitan Ballet, and the University of Wyoming. As a dance scholar, Johnson explores dance and diversity. Her research has been presented at the National Dance Education Organization, the World Dance Alliance, and the American College Dance Association conferences. Her scholarship has been published in the Journal of Dance Education. Ms. Johnson holds a MFA in Dance from the University of Washington with additional certifications in Autism Movement Therapy and Yoga.
In 5th grade, Jeffrey O’Flynn’s band director gave him a clarinet because all the saxophones, his first choice instrument, had been rented. That turned out to be a happy occurrence, because he found his artistic voice through the clarinet. He now resides in Utah where he leads a dual career as clarinetist and educator.
Dr. O’Flynn has headlined numerous festivals such as the Taller de Clarinete at UNAM in Mexico City (Mexico) and the Hebei Clarinet Festival (China). He was also the featured guest artist at the University of Southern Mississippi Clarinet Day. In 2020, he was invited to solo with the UVU Wind Symphony on their UMEA Conference performance.
He also loves to collaborate on chamber music. With his UVU colleagues, he has appeared at Adams State University, the University of Arizona, the University of Utah, and more. As a founding member of the C3 Clarinet Trio, he has been invited to perform at the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest and the College Music Society International Conference.
No stranger to larger ensembles, he has performed with the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, the Cincinnati Symphony, the Cincinnati Opera, the Wichita Symphony, and the Richmond Symphony, among others. He served as principal clarinet of the Queen City Opera.
Appointed in 2015, Dr. O’Flynn serves as clarinet professor and woodwind coordinator at Utah Valley University. He received the Faculty Excellence Award in 2021 in recognition of his teaching, scholarship, and service. He served on the faculty of the 2020 Digital Clarinet Academy Summer Sessions, which were founded in response to the pandemic. In summer 2021, he will found Camp Clarinet at UVU, a summer camp clarinet intensive. He has presented classes at the University of Virginia, the University of Delaware, the Las Vegas Clarinet Day, the Utah Clarinet Festival, Florida State University, among others.
Dr. O’Flynn received his DMA from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, his MM from Florida State University, and his BM from Wichita State University. His principal teachers include Ixi Chen, Ron Aufmann, Dr. Frank Kowalsky, and Dr. Suzanne Tirk.
Constance Jensen holds two masters degrees -- one from the University of Utah in Vocal Performance and the other from California State San Bernardino in Voice and Choral Conducting. She currently teaches Voice and Group Voice at Utah Valley University and previously conducted the UVU Concert Choir for eleven years, taught Introduction to Music and was a co-teacher of Opera Workshop.
With a love of both classical and jazz, Constance performs in the Utah County/Salt Lake area where she regularly sings jazz at The Shops at Riverwoods and other jazz venues. She has also sung for the City of Orem Arts in the Park Series. Her voice is described as “warm, rich and velvety smooth” when she’s singing jazz ballads like ‘Round Midnight, and “versatile and free” when scatting on tunes like Fly Me to the Moon. Instrumental in helping to create the Riverwoods Gazebo venue for performers, she sings both jazz and classical concerts there.
Constance also performs with the Utah/Idaho Performing Arts Company in their chamber music series and operas, playing Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti and Magda Sorel in The Consul. She performs classical recitals in Utah and California, and was invited to Cal State San Bernardino to perform an Alumni Solo Artist Recital and has also been a featured vocal soloist with UVU’s jazz ensemble, wind ensemble and the Wasatch Chorale. Recent classical performances include two solo recitals in the Tabernacle Concert Series in Logan, Utah. She has been musical director for musicals, including All Shook Up! at the SCERA.
Honors include Vocalist of the Year twice at Cal State San Bernardino and the Distinguished Volunteer Service Award at UVU for her work with VoiceLine. As co-founder of VoiceLine, a nine man a cappella group at UVU, Constance was both Musical Director and Faculty Advisor for four years, and was honored by UVU with a Distinguished Service Award for her work with the group, while VoiceLine was honored as Club of the Year. During her tenure with VoiceLine, they performed at various UVU events, including fundraisers for the Noorda Performing Arts Center, and the Scholarship Ball. They recorded and released their first album, hosted and performed at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, and traveled to Hollywood to compete on America’s Got Talent.
Upcoming engagements include two performances on the Logan Tabernacle Summer Concert Series on July 6th (vocal jazz) and July 16th (classical and musical theatre), and concerts in Nevada and San Diego in Fall 2021.
Tara is an award-winning Competitor, Choreographer, and Director. She has Directed the UVU Ballroom Dance Company for the last 5 years and has choreographed for the Company for over 15 years. She led the company to win the USADance National Latin and Standard Formation Championships, 2nd and 3rd place at the British Formation Championship, and Collegiate Championship Title with DWTS. Tara is a Junior Latin, Standard, and 10 Dance Champion, Youth Latin, Standard, and 10 Dance Champion, Amateur 10 Dance Champion, Professional Latin Rising Star Finalist and was a US representative for WDSF World Championship in Slovenia. After competing professionally, she returned to BYU and graduated with a BA in Fine Arts. Her choreography has been featured on Dancing With The Stars, nationally at NDCA and USA Dance Championships, in 30 UVU Ballroom Concerts, and at the Blackpool DanceSport Festival.
Monica Campbell is an Associate Professor of Dance at Utah Valley University and the Chair of the Department of Dance. She danced internationally with Diavolo from 1999-2006. She acted as the rehearsal director from 2002-2004 and Associate Artistic Director from 2004-2006 with Director, Jacques Heim. She was an Associate Choreographer for Diavolo’s Fluid Infinities that premiered in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl in 2013. Her Screendance, Aleppo Agonistes, inspired by the Arab Spring, won 2nd place in the pre-professional film-maker division, and an audience choice award at the 2016 Utah Dance Film Festival and was an Official Selection for the 2016 DanceBARN Screendance Festival. In 2017/18 her Screendance, Triumvirate, was an official selection in the Outlet Dance Film Festival, Tiny Dance Film Festival, International Screendance Festival, Portland Dance Festival, and Utah Dance Film Festival where it won an audience choice award. Monica is the recipient of the Faculty Senate Excellence Award, Grants for Engaged Learning, the UVU Center for the Study of Ethics Faculty Fellowship, and the SOA Outstanding Educator Award.
Brandon’s professional work has recently been exhibited nationally in Surreal Salon
9, 10, & 11 at Baton Rouge Gallery, and the Crocker Kingsley and Lowbrow shows at
Blue Line Arts in California. His students have received design awards from; PRINT
Magazine, AIGA 100 Show, IPPY Book Awards, PPI Print Rocks, and Design Arts Utah.
His motion graphics students have been included in; The Revere International Film
Festival, Art All Night-Trenton, and the First-Time Filmmaker Sessions.
