The Sundance Summer Theatre is a yearly production hosted with The School of the Arts at Utah Valley University. Now in their 17th year of partnership, the two organizations draw on talented actors and professionals from around the country to create exciting and dynamic shows. The event takes place in Sundance’s stunning outdoor amphitheater, rated one of the “10 Best Outdoor Theatre Experiences in the Country,” by Fodor’s Travel Guide. Entertaining thousands of visitors per year, the theatre epitomizes Founder, Robert Redford’s, vision of bringing art and nature together.

The Sound of Music is one of the world’s most beloved musicals, tells the heartwarming story of Maria; a high-spirited postulant who takes a job serving as a governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain, bringing music and joy to the family as they escape over the mountains on the brink of World War II. Based on the inspirational, real-life story of the Von Trapp Family Singers, the production features some best-known songs, including “Edelweiss”, “My Favorite Things”, “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”, and the title song “The Sound of Music”.
