Online Only Out‑of‑State Status Eligibility Requirements

Online Out‑of‑State students must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident 
  • Be living within the US but permanently living outside of the state of Utah 
  • Be enrolled exclusively in an online program

To apply for the online out-of-state designation, you must complete the residency application and submit one of the required documents as proof of your address outside of Utah.

Examples include:

  • Posted mail with name of applicant 
  • Utility bill 
  • Lease agreement 
  • Mortgage document 
  • Insurance card 
  • Voter registration card 
  • Property tax receipt 
  • Bank statement 
  • Court documents 
  • Vehicle title
