The First-Generation Student Success Center is committed to providing first-generation students access to leadership, mentoring, and academic development. We work with students and their parents to establish a sense of community, belonging, and well being throughout the entire college experience and into a rewarding career. We are here to help you apply for financial aid and scholarships, register for classes, and navigate the exciting day-to-day of your college experience.
At UVU we define First Gen as being the first person in your immediate family to pursue or complete a bachelors degree in the United States. You still qualify as a first- generation student if:
The First Gen Center will be launching a Faculty and Staff mentoring program for all students beginning Fall of 2024. Application and mentor pairing will begin June 1, 2024.
Most First-Gen scholarships closed on March 1. Awards will be announced mid-June. If you haven't applied for FAFSA yet this year, then apply today! Other scholarships and waivers can be found on Scholarship Universe.
Applications for First Gen Crew are officially open! We have 12 Full tuition waivers available for the 2024-2025 school year. We can't wait to see your application! The priority deadline is June 1st. We will keep the application open until all positions are filled. Remember, you're not alone in this process.
