What is TRIO Student Support Services?
- We are a federally funded program on UVU's Orem Campus that offers one-on-one tutoring
and personalized advising to students of various majors/disciplines.
- We serve 150 or so students who are either 1) first generation, 2) Low-income or 3)
have a disability and are registered with Accessibility Services.
- Our goal is to help students to graduate in a 4-6 year time-frame by connecting students
to resources at TRIO and throughout UVU.
- Once a student has been accepted into our program, they are a permanent TRIO Participant and privy to all our services until they graduate with their first
Bachelor's.

Scholarship Criteria
- You must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree and planning to graduate from UVU.
- You must be BOTH a First-Generation Student and Qualify for Federal Financial Aid (Pell Grant) in order to apply.
- You must be a Utah State resident in order to apply for the TRIO SSS Scholarship.
- 2.5 cumulative GPA minimum.
- You do NOT have to be a current TRIO Student.

This award is a tuition waiver which waives the collection of tuition charges. Receipt
of any other tuition waivers that cover your tuition may forfeit this award.

You will be required to take FIN 1060 (Personal Finance) over the fall semester that you are accepting the scholarship.
How to Apply for the Scholarship:
The TRIO SSS Scholarship is for incoming and continuing students at Utah Valley University.
This scholarship is for a maximum of 2 semesters (Fall/Spring).
To apply for a TRIO Student Support Scholarship on , follow the steps below:
- You must be already admitted into UVU and have a permanent UVID.
Plan on applying for admission at least 3 business days before the scholarship application
deadline.
- You must have an up-to-date FAFSA submitted and received by UVU before applying for
scholarships.
- Login to myUVU's Scholarship Application.
- Follow the instructions on how to apply for scholarships at Utah Valley University.
- Mark that you are First-Gen on your eligibility profile. (You must be First-Generation in order to apply. This means neither of your parents
have graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in the USA. )
- Apply for the need-based TRIO Student Support Services Scholarship.

loans for textbook purchases. For questions about book loans or financial aid, please
