Student Computing

Our Mission

The Department of Student Computing has been established to provide computing resources, technical support and information systems that enhance the educational experience of the students of Utah Valley University.

The student computing resources available at UVU include:

  • Open labs available for use around campus. Services in open labs include internet access, printing, wireless printing, scanning, word processing and access to myUVU and Canvas.
  • Academic labs provided by certain departments for students taking classes from that department, with software and features specific to the needs of certain classes.
  • Open lab extensions and charging stations for student use across campus for quick access to myUVU and printing.
  • Printing in open labs as well as wireless printing locations for printing from laptops located throughout campus.

Students can now log into openlab or academic lab computers from anywhere.

Virtual software is also available for student use.

 

Core Services

Maintain free use Open labs with software including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), SPSS & Nvivo, and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Provide wireless printing on campus and $10 of free print credit per student each semester.

Convenient Open lab extensions for quick printing and easy, fast computer access.

Secure, free charging stations for Laptops, Tablets, and Smartphones.
