Emergency Medical Technician


Emergency Medical Technician provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform emergency care and transport. These courses prepare students for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician through the Utah Bureau of EMS and National Registry Certification. Course costs are based on UVU tuition. How to Enroll
EMT/EMS Students entering through a gate
  • Register for ESEC 1140 through myUVU: 
  • Morning Section- Held every Tuesday & Thursday from 11am-2pm.
  • Afternoon Section- Held every Tuesday & Thursday from 1pm-4pm.
  • Evening Section- Held every Tuesday & Thursday from 6pm-9pm.

What are the prerequisites for EMT?

    • You must be 18 years of age within 120 days of course completion
    • CPR certified at HealthCare Provider Level

  • Students will earn upon completion of the class certifications in: ACLS, BLS, PALS, PHTLS
What are the prerequisites for Advanced EMT?

  • Utah EMT Certification (National Registry) -expiration valid through course
    • CPR certification by a Health Care Provider- expiration valid through course
What is the class schedule for AEMT?
EMT/EMS Students stabilizing patient
  • Offered both Fall and Spring semesters
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6 pm – 10 pm, Saturdays - TBA
