MISSION STATEMENT

We provide billing, collection and Perkins Loan management services to UVU customer's and constituents while complying with university, state and federal policies and regulations. The University's Collections Department approaches debt recovery from a customer service and counseling perspective to help students avoid serious financial hardship. The collection staff does this by offering repayment options while maintaining a focus on debt recovery of university assets.

FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. Even if you’re paying the tuition, parents, guardians, or spouses can’t see your student’s grades unless they grant you permission OR you are able to establish to the satisfaction of the university that you are providing one-half or more of your student's support. For more information about this process, please contact the Registrar's office at 801-863-8493.

SIRA

Instructions to complete the Student Release of Information online:

  1. Student logs in to my.uvu.edu, selects the STUDENT tab, then the “My Academics” page to find link (bottom right of page).
  2. Student assigns a password to those who are given access (make sure you know the password!).
  3. Verification of password will be required for telephone conversations.
  4. Photo proof of identification required for in-person requests for information.

Info on Holds

If you have a financial hold on your account and you pay your balance in full with debit, credit or cash--your hold will be removed in 1-2 business days. 

If you pay by check your hold will be removed within 7-10 business days after we receive the payment.

All delinquent balances must be paid in full before registration can occur.
