Coverage begins on the first day of the month following the employee's date of hire. If the employee starts on the first working day of the month (when the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday), coverage begins on the first day of that month.
Each UVU employee is unique, and so are their family's health and financial needs. Medical, dental, and supplemental vision benefits are offered separately, enabling you to select each option individually.
Newly hired full-time, benefits-eligible employees will be automatically enrolled in a 401(a) Defined Contribution Plan, with contributions totaling 14.2% of their compensation. Employees can choose to invest their contributions through TIAA and/or Fidelity Investments.
Employees who have previously participated in Utah Retirement Systems (URS) with another employer and wish to remain with URS must make an irrevocable decision to do so. Employees rehired into a full-time, benefits-eligible position who had URS in the past will be automatically defaulted back into the URS system.
