National Conference on Undergraduate Research

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is one opportunity for presenting original work.  For the 2007 conference this year, UVU funded travel for 32 students to NCUR in San Rafael, California as a show of support to students who have had their presentations accepted by this prestigious conference.  The Dominican University of California hosted the 21st NCUR, which brought together more than 2,000 of the best and brightest student researchers and faculty from around the United States.  The conference draws students and faculty from over 400 colleges and universities each year.

The purpose of NCUR is to:

  • encourage awareness of undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative opportunities;
  • promote the value of these components in complementing other aspects of undergraduate education and in encouraging the pursuit of advanced study and academic careers;
  • communicate and celebrate the results of student-mentor collaborations; and
  • foster a multidisciplinary and multicultural community of researchers, scholars, and artists linked by common intellectual curiosity.
