UVU Community Education

Diana Hunter is the Senior Director of Community Education , where she is responsible for UVU's non-credit programs including Workforce Development, Community Education, Lifelong Learning, Conferences, Driver Education, Elderhostel, and Elder Quest.

She received the Staff Excellence Award in 2006 and the Distinguished Staff Award in 2005.  She has served on many UVU committees including UVUphoria (2008), Regional Economic Development Council (2006-7), the Strategic Directions Advisory Committee (2004-7), and the Vice President for Academic Affairs Search Committee (2006-7).

Ms. Hunter is a member of UCEA (University Continuing Education Association) and LERN (Learning Resource Network).  She is a founding member of the Utah Continuing Education Marketing Community of Practice.  She has made numerous conference presentations on marketing higher education, starting new programs, and developing a statewide community of practice.

Since she began working at UVSC in January 2001, Ms. Hunter has started the Workforce Development, Contractor Continuing Education, Centro Hispano, and the Command Spanish programs at UVSC.  She was instrumental in acquiring Americanos, a traveling Smithsonian exhibit of Hispanic art, for the UVSC Woodbury Art Gallery during its first year of operation. The Centro Hispano program was one of ten national winners in 2003 of the $10,000 National Make A Difference Award for outstanding volunteer projects.  UVU Community Education is the only Utah Licensed Official Registered Provider of Command Spanish, the premier occupational Spanish program in the nation. 

 Ms. Hunter has a Master's Degree in Business (MBA) from Boise State University and an undergraduate degree (BBA) with a double major in marketing and management from Idaho State University . She has been the Assistant Comptroller of Idaho Bank & Trust, a marketing/management consultant with two Small Business Development centers and has operated successful business consulting and travel service businesses.
