The graduating student survey is a critical part of our assessment of UVU. The survey is administered to students in the Spring semester, about a month before graduation. It helps us understand the employment and continued education of our graduates. It also gives us insight to their experience while attending UVU. The data collected provides vital feedback to many departments across campus, and informs our accreditation process.Summer University 2009 Evaluation: May 18 - May 31, 2009
This short survey collects feedback from participants in Summer University. The data will be used to aid in the planning and development of Summer University 2010.The Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE): March 1 - May 31, 2009
The Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) was designed to complement the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), which is administered to undergraduate students. The faculty version focuses on:-Faculty perceptions of how often students engage in different activities.
-The importance faculty place on various areas of learning and development.
-The nature and frequency of faculty-student interactions.
-How faculty members organize their time, both in and out of the classroom.
The project is coordinated by the Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research. FSSE is designed to measure faculty expectations for student engagement in educational practices that are empirically linked with high levels of learning and development. Since 2003, over 99,000 faculty members from more than 465 different colleges and universities have responded to the survey.

Survey is being conducted by UVU Concurrent Enrollment.Suicide Prevention Survey: April 15 - May 15, 2009
Survey to assess exposure, awareness, and knowledge of suicide risk factors amount students and faculty on campus as a result of the GLS Campus Suicide Prevention Program. Survey also fulfills a requirement to receive continued federal funding for that program. Survey is being conducted by UVU Student Health Services.Western Region Campus Compact Consortium (WRCCC): April 15 - April 23, 2009
The WRCCC Faculty Engagement Survey Project will collect common data across the eight-state Campus Compact Western Region identifying current faculty service-learning and community-based research practices; possible strategies to motivate and support new faculty to do service-learning and/or community-based research; best practices by which to support faculty who already incorporate service-learning and community based research into their work; and the potential impacts of service-learning and community-based research on faculty, students, campuses, and communities. UVU will be able to use this data to shape strategic direction and programming. UVU will also be able to use the data to learn more about how faculty members are involved in service-learning and community-based research; how to support faculty; and how service-learning impacts faculty, students, and community members.Omnibus Survey
UVU conducts a omnibus survey during both the Fall and Spring, to both students and employees. These home-grown surveys provide immediate feedback to administration about hot issues. It also allows various departments to include specific questions to inform their decision making. The goal is to reduce the total number of surveys being administered and allow a more coordinated effort in understanding the UVU experience. The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE): February 23 - May 30, 2009
Student engagement is an integral part of UVU’s mission, particularly in terms of engaged learning and community engagement. Engaged learning is learning by doing. It's hands-on education. It's relevant education. It's graduating with a diploma and a resume. The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is the instrument we use to measure the level of student engagement at UVU. The NSSE obtains information from hundreds of institutions nationwide about student participation in programs and activities. The results provide an estimate of how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college. Survey items on The NSSE represent empirically confirmed "good practices" in undergraduate education. That is, they reflect behaviors by students and institutions that are associated with desired outcomes of college. Results from the NSSE are used to identify aspects of the undergraduate experience inside and outside the classroom that can be improved through changes in policies and practices more consistent with good practices in undergraduate education.
