Scholarships

Scholarships Students of today and tomorrow need financial help more than ever. With the decline of state support for higher education, UVU students have seen tuition increase of nearly 100 percent since 1990, with out-of-state students paying the largest increase. And, because of economic and demographic changes, more students than ever are seeking a college education today.

One Million in Private Scholarship Funding

More than $1 million was awarded in fall 2007 through 164 private scholarships funds. This is a dramatic increase from years past and an exciting milestone for our institution. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and commitment of the UVU Foundation, private scholarship funding continues to rise to meet the demand of our growing student body.
“We are so grateful to those who have established a scholarship fund. These scholarships help students achieve their educational objectives and make a significant difference in students’ lives, today and into the future,” said Nancy Smith, Director of Donor Relations and Private Scholarships.

Although the increase in private scholarship funds makes an impact on educational opportunities, this one-million dollar landmark is only a fraction of the amount needed to accommodate the growing student body. With university status now official, the need for privately funded scholarships continues to grow.
