for All Appeals
Any student has the right to appeal the denial or suspension of financial
aid. The appeal must be submitted with
current appeal forms. It should contain an account of the circumstances
that warrant the granting of the appeal.
The Financial Aid Office will not accept or review an appeal that is
incomplete or lacks appropriate documentation. Keep a copy of all
documentation submitted. Please read the specific instructions
included on each form, and follow the directions fully. Do NOT substitute
one kind of form for another even if you are submitting the same information.
An improper form will cause the student file to have an 'Incomplete' status, and
may delay disbursement of funds.
Financial Aid Appeals

The Special Circumstance
Appeal form is used to document and request special consideration because of

The Appeal Review
Appeals will be reviewed by the Financial Aid Appeals Committee. As needed, the
Director and/or Associate Director of Financial Aid & Scholarships may review
the appeal. Any adjustments will be made on the basis of circumstances,
documented supporting evidence, and the availability of funds.
All petitions for adjustment to a student’s financial aid must be made within
the academic year of the financial aid disbursement in question. Once the UVU
Business Office closes its financial recording for the academic year in question,
(on or before June 30 each year) the student is liable for any financial aid
owed to the school or Federal Government.
If any repayment of financial aid for any reason, or payment to UVU is
owed, the student is responsible to pay that amount or make suitable
arrangements with the parties involved.
UVU provides financial assistance to all eligible students regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. If you need language assistance or accommodation, please inform us when you first contact our office.
