Qualifications

  • High school GPA 3.6 +
  • Earned 15 - 29 concurrent enrollment credits at UVU (by July 1)
  • Minimum 3.5 cumulative UVU GPA
  • Utah resident

Award Information

  • $3,500 each year ($1,750 Fall semester & $1,750 Spring semester)
  • Students owe remaining tuition, general student fee (as notated on the Current Tuition Tables), and other fees associated with their coursework
  • Scholarship can be deferred

Renewal Requirements

  • Scholarship is awarded for 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA
  • Must earn 12 credits each semester

Utah resident CE Outstanding Merit Scholarships will be selected from current high school seniors who demonstrate that they meet the academic criteria. Unweighted GPA is used and GPA is not rounded.

Application Checklist

Prospective students must do the following by February 1, 2027 to be automatically considered:

  • Provide the Admissions Office with an official copy of your high school transcript by February 1st of their senior year of high school

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this scholarship stackable?

It is not stackable with other traditional freshman merit scholarships. Students can only receive one of the traditional freshman merit or the CE Freshman merit scholarships, whichever is higher. However, the CE scholarship is stackable with any other non-freshman merit waiver (up to the cost of tuition) or any cash, donor-funded, or third-party scholarship received, as eligible requirements allow.

Which classes count toward this scholarship?

Any digital education or in-person UVU concurrent enrollment class counts toward credit requirements. CE classes from other institutions do not count.

Do summer classes count?

Summer classes are considered early college classes and are not CE. While these classes count toward degrees, they do not count toward the requirements of this scholarship.

Do online classes count?

Yes. Online CE classes through UVU count toward the scholarship requirements. Other online options, like early college, UVU Launch classes, and online classes at other schools, do not count.

When is this scholarship awarded?

CE scholarships will begin to be awarded in late fall, around November and December, for the upcoming academic year. Posted CE merit scholarships will be reviewed again in late June/early July to allow for any additional CE credits completed in the spring of senior year.
