Utah Valley University’s School of the Arts will present its second annual concert, “Tutus, Triptychs, Timpani and Two-Minute Soliloquies,” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 and Thursday, Feb. 25 in the Ragan Theater. True to its name, the concert will feature a diverse showing of artistic talent from students and faculty of each of the School of the Arts departments: art and visual communications, dance, music and theatrical arts.

Attendees can expect to be entertained by UVU theater students, who were among the finalists at the recent American College Theatre Festival, sharing comic and dramatic monologues; the internationally award-winning UVU Ballroom Dance Team; vocal and instrumental musical performers, featuring the University’s new Steinway pianos and the UVU Jazz Band; as well as art and ceramic displays from both students and faculty.

Tickets for the event are $7 for general admission, $5 with a UVU ID card, and can be purchased through Campus Connection at (801) 863-8797.

In addition, on opening night Wednesday, the first annual School of the Arts Patron Award will be given to Tye Noorda for her generous support of UVU, most recently through the building of the new Noorda Theatre. A reception will be held in her honor prior to the performance that night at 6:30 p.m. in the Sorensen Student Center, room 206C.
