G Code Ventures embodies all of the business undertakings of 31-year old Brandt Andersen - Utah County resident and entrepreneur. His philosophy is that art can be created in ways other than with a brush. G Code Ventures includes ownership of the Utah Flash NBA D-League team, the Lakes at Sleepy Ridge, and The Point, a Frank Gehry project in Lehi. Katie and Brandt live in Provo and are the parents of three children.

Michael Ballam
|
Founder and Director of Utah Festival Opera, in Logan, UT. Michael is also a Director, Utah Festival Opera, Michael has had an operatic and recital career spanning three decades and four continents. A native of Logan, Utah, Mr. Ballam has performed in the major concert halls of America, Europe, Asia, Russia and the Middle East, with command performances at the Vatican and the White House. He has shared the stage with the world’s greatest singers, including Joan Sutherland, Kiri Te Kanawa, Birgit Nilsson, and Placido Domingo. Michael is also a Professor of Music at Utah State University.

Rusty Chambers

A former performer at the Sundance Summer Theater in the 1970s, Rusty started her own travel agency, Classic Cruise & Travel, Inc., specializing in business and corporate travel retreats. Rusty sold her business to Christopherson Travel and now works with their operation, providing the same service for specialized corporate travel.

Bruce Christensen

Recently
retired as President of KSL & Senior Vice President of Bonneville
International, Bruce is former president of PBS. In addition to the
UVU School of the Arts Board, Bruce currently serves on the Utah
Symphony/Opera Executive Committee, Utah Shakespearean Festival Board
of Governors, and Envision Utah- Coalition for Utah’s Future Executive
Committee. Bruce and his wife, Barbara, live in Orem and St. George.

Jack Christianson
|
Jack R. Christianson was raised in Orem, Utah and currently resides there. He is married to Melanie Harris. They are the parents of four daughters and are the grandparents of eight grandsons, and six granddaughters. He graduated from Weber State University with a teaching degree in English and Physical Education. As a Weber Wildcat he played quarterback on the football team which led to future opportunities to teach and coach at the high school and college level. He also received a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Brigham Young University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Sociology from the University of Buckingham. He has been a public speaker for many years in addition to teaching and serving as an administrator in a private educational system. He was the Director of the Orem Institute of Religion and upon completion of his service he had the opportunity to be a visiting scholar at Brigham Young University. He has written several books for the regional market and two for a general audience. He has also published numerous talks on tape and CD. He currently is an administrator at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

James Christensen

James
Christensen was recently designated as a "Utah Art Treasure," one of
Utah's Topp 100 Artists by the Springville Museum of Art and received
the Governor's Award for Art awarded by the Utah Arts Council
recognizing the significance of Christensen's artwork to Utah's
cultural communities.

Kent & Janet Christensen
|
Janet is an investment banker and one of the founders of The Blackstone Group in New York. Janet earned a B.A. degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University after a course of study in London. She is a member of the Chairman's Circle at Roundabout Theatre Company, New York and a Life Benefactor of The Royal National Theatre, London. Kent and Janet come as a team. They live at Sundance and in New York City. Kent is an artist with current shows at Williams Fine Art in Salt Lake City and Sundance Art Gallery at Sundance Resort.

Boyd is Executive of Franklin Covey’s Stephen R. Covey Group. For nearly two decades, he has been Stephen R. Covey’s partner in spreading the influence of principle-centered leadership throughout the world. Boyd assisted Dr. Covey in the research, development, writing, and/or editing of Covey’s bestselling books, including Principle-Centered Leadership and The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness, and Everyday Greatness.

Skip Daynes

Owner/President of Daynes Music, Skip is a dedicated philanthropist and leader in the arts community in Utah. In addition to the UVU School of the Arts Board, Skip has served on numerous boards, including the National Association of Music Merchants, Ballet West, Utah Opera, Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, Downtown Retail Merchants Board, Downtown Alliance Board, founder of the Fine Arts Advisory Board at the University of Utah, and the Board of Trustees at Snow College.

Kathie Debenham

|
Interim Dean, School of the Arts, Kathie is also the founding dean of the School of the Arts at UVU. She is a Professor of Dance and served as the founding chair of the Dance Department and Modern Dance Program Director. She created Synergy Dance Company at UVU in 1992 and directed the company for 13 years. The parents of three daughters, Kathie and her husband Pat have enjoyed many years of artistic collaboration, with family-making at the heart of their dance-making.

Assistant Dean for Advancement for the School of the Arts, Barbara has 30 years of experience at BYU and UVU, including programming KBYU and producing BYU football and basketball games and on-air pledge drives. With ten years experience in development and estate planning, Barbara oversees the School of the Arts development efforts. Barbara and her husband, Scott, an Associate Professor of Business at UVU, are the parents of five children.

Monroe & Shirley Paxman
|
Both 89 years young, Monroe and Shirley are called UVU’s honorary citizens and strongest supporters. They never miss a performance, lecture or symposium. Lifelong residents of Provo, Monroe is a retired 4th District Court Juvenile Judge and Shirley is a retired nursing professor and former owner of the McCurdie Doll Museum in Provo. Their tireless support includes throwing a cast party for the Sundance Summer Theatre Midsummer Night’s Dream cast in August of 2008, at their cabin iln Provo canyon.

J. Bonner Ritchie

Scholar in Residence at UVU, Bonner founded the Organizational Behavior Department at BYU. He has had visiting professor appointments at Stanford University, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Southern Europe, BirZeit University (Palestine), the University of Jordan, and the Jordan Institute of Diplomacy. Bonner’s teaching, research and consulting activities have been in the areas of leadership development, organizational change, conflict resolution, organizational philosophy and ethics. In addition to serving on the Executive Committee of the School of the Arts board, Bonner serves on Envision Utah- Coalition for Utah’s Future, along with fellow School of the Arts board member, Bruce Christensen

Mary Robinson

Mary is the consummate volunteer, generously giving of her time and expertise to leading the School of the Arts board for two years. She continues on the Executive Committee as past chair. Residents of Orem, she and her husband, Mark, are the parents of three children.

Walter Rudolph
|
General Manager of KBYU-FM, Walter has developed and/or established broadcast productions of numerous local lectures, concerts and recitals given at Brigham Young University, plus broadcasts of the Utah Symphony, Utah Opera, Utah Festival Opera, the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, the Madeleine Festival, and Temple Square Concert series. A former opera singer himself, Walter is a strong supporter of the arts.

President of GFC Foundation, a Utah-based private foundation, Stan was previously senior analyst for Probity Advisors, a registered investment advisor in Dallas, Texas. Stan received an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BS in computer science from Utah Valley State College. He and his wife, Michelle, live with their two sons in Provo, Utah.

An alumnus of the UVU Dance Department, Joe is branch manager of Mountain American Credit Union in Orem. Joe is also a board member and chair elect for the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce and works as a volunteer with the Exchange Club of Herriman and Riverton.

Abraham Teng

Originally from Taiwan, Abraham
and his wife, Kathy, came to the United States to continue his graduate
studies. After receiving his degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Brigham Young University, Abraham worked for national companies such as
Motorola and Flowserve. Before joining UVU in 2002, Abraham was the
Vice President for Software Development at Authorize.net, a Utah Valley
company specializing in credit card processing. While at UVU, Abraham
has served as Department Chair of the Computer and Networking Sciences
Department and an Associate Dean for the College of Technology and
Computing. Abraham and his wife live in Orem and have four children and
two grandchildren.
