Advisement Forum
The Mission of the Advisement Forum is to ensure the provisions of excellent advising services to the students of Utah Valley University (UVU). The Advisement Forum serves as an open organization for all academic advisors and others who advise students regarding academic programs, student services, financial assistance, and other aspects of college life.
The Advisement Forum began in 2001 as part of an initiative designed to strengthen communication and foster information sharing among academic and career advisors and counselors, advisor support offices, and other important entities on campus. Prior to the establishment of the Advisement Leadership Council ( ALC), the Advisement Forum was coordinated by a steering committee that oversaw the direction of monthly meetings, facilitated email communication, planned and directed the annual retreat. As a result of the creation of the ALC, a planning council, which has taken the place of the steering committee, the Advisement Forum still retains many of the same functions; however, it will do so as part of the ALC’s strategic efforts to strengthen advising at UVU.
