Admissions Steps
Fill out the application completely, (must be 18 years or older to apply).
Obtain monetary support documents. The AFFADAVIT OF SUPPORT FOR AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AT UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY is to be completed by the person who will be providing money for tuition, fees and living expenses, with an original bank statement or Tax return attached. Please note: If you are sponsoring yourself you will need to provide a letter from your bank showing the needed amount on deposit under your name.
ALL FINANCIAL SUPPORT PAPERS MUST BE IN ENGLISH, SHOWING AMOUNTS IN U.S. DOLLARS.
Send official transcripts or records, with your application, showing you have graduated from a school level that meets U.S. high school requirements for graduation.
English proficiency is required! You must submit either an official TOEFL test score (61 or better, IBT) or the Compass ESL test score (90 or better). Test scores must be less than one year old. If you meet English proficiency requirements you must take an entrance exam prior to registering for classes. This EXAM WILL DETERMINE YOUR FIRST SEMESTER CLASSES. If you apply for English as a Second Language no test score is required, however you must attend at least one full semester before testing out of ESL and requesting an undergraduate I-20.
The application fee is $100 and is nonrefundable. This is to be submitted in U.S. currency by check, money order or U.S. dollars.
If you transfer from another institution in the United States, your previous school must complete the Transfer certification form. Put your name on the top of the document, and give the form to the previous school. The previous school will complete the form and send it directly to our University along with an official copy of your transcript from their institution.
Inasmuch as mailing time varies for each country please allow several weeks for your documents to be processed, returned to you in time for you to obtain your visa, and still enable you to make travel arrangements. You should arrive here a week or more before the first day of class for testing, advisement and registration.
