Residency Information
For NEW Non-resident Students:
Effective July 1, 2008, students who have resided in Utah for 12 continuous months may qualify for residency.
Students will need to provide proof of financial independence (cannot be claimed on non-resident parent's federal tax return fro the previous tax year) documentation considered to satisfy this requirement are student's federal tax return and parent federal tax return (if student is under 26.)
Applicants will also need to have a Utah driver's license, vehicle & voter registration at least 3 months prior to applying for residency.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or have Permanent Resident Status.
For CURRENT Non-resident Students:
There will be no retroactive application of the 12-month waiting period. A residency application (pdf) must be submitted, demonstrating the 12 months of residence.
DEADLINES:
Residency application deadline for fall semester is July 15th and December 1st for the spring semester.
